Brand New Primary School on the Way for Bowery

We are incredibly excited to announce that Bowery will officially be home to its very own primary school in the coming years! This news comes as Bowery developer Wel.Co confirmed the sale of a 3.5ha site to the Department of Education this week.

The school, known as Grasslands Primary School for the time being, will cater for over 500 local students from prep to year six, and will be located within walking distance of every home at Bowery. This is fantastic news for future residents, ensuring important local services are provided for our growing north-west community.

Wel.Co Managing Director, Andrew Welsh said the sale would deliver a significant amenity boost to the local catchment as the local population grows.

“It is critical that infrastructure and amenity continues to be built at pace with the population as more young couples and families decide to call Melbourne’s western growth suburbs home,” said Mr Welsh.

“Grasslands Primary School will be an exciting and significant addition to Bowery and we look forward to seeing it develop into a place that provides opportunity for students to grow and excel.”

This new school is just one of the many amenities that will sit within the Bowery community. A new town centre, a business and indoor recreation centre and government secondary school will also be close by. This essential infrastructure will be complemented by an abundance of open green spaces to help ensure a happy, healthy lifestyle for all our residents.

Construction of the school is set to commence later this year, with Grasslands Primary School expected to open in 2022.
