Buyers Set to Benefit From a HomeBuilder Extension
The federal government’s HomeBuilder grant is getting a bit of a shake up! The highly sought after scheme will be extended until 31 March 2021. This is great news for buyers who would have been unable to secure their contract by the end of the year.
By extending HomeBuilder another three months, the government hopes to continue to support the building industry and would-be homebuyers. Although, this time around, there will be a few other updates to the scheme.
HomeBuilder version 2 offers a $15,000 grant for building contracts signed between 1 January and 31 March 2021 inclusive – a slightly lower amount than the original. On the plus side though, the cap price of your new home at Bowery has been raised up to $850,000. That’s a $100,000 boost!
Once your contract is signed, you now have until 14 April 2021 to submit your application to the State Revenue Office. Construction must commence six months from the contract date.
In other big news, the Victorian government has announced it will slash stamp duty for new builds! From now until the end of June 2021, buyers will save 50% on stamp duty for all new builds valued up to $1 million. Pair this with the $10K First Home Owner Grant that’s still in play, and there are massive savings to be had right now for eligible buyers!
With only a dozen lots left at Bowery and no more land releases to come, time is running out for buyers to secure a lot in our Deanside community with the help of HomeBuilder!
